Wasn't sure where to put this question so I'll put it in general.

I have a colony of isopods I use as clean up crew for my mantis tanks. As I drink a metric ton of loose leave tea I started thinking the leaves might be a good food source for them. Does anyone knows if it safe/reasonable to feed the used tea leaves to the isopods? They are just leaves I suppose but perhaps there is something that makes tea tea that is no good for them?

Well isopods are not mantids, so it was moved to the Other Insects and Invertebrates section. :)

Not sure if it is a good idea or not to feed them tea leaves, but you can try it to see if they will even eat it. Personally I only feed my various colonies leaf litter, tree bark and decaying sticks, and fresh vegetables.

When I had a decent sized isopod culture I would throw in coffee grounds about every week sometimes more then that, of course tea is different but as long as it does not contain anything toxic to them it should be fine.
