I just found a whole bunch of queens from the nuptial flight and was wondering if they can be kept together. Or does each queen have to have her own shin dig?

Some species will tolerate multiple queen colonies and form 'super colonies' with a bunch of satellite colonies branching off, but other species will only allow one queen per colony...they will kill each other if kept together....what species is the one you collected?

That first ant from the google search is, Iridomyrmex purpureus (meat ant or gravel ant)....endemic to Australia....so I don't think that is it....
