Hello everyone, I just found this really neat jumping spider while walking home from school. These kids were cramming paper in a small hole in the tree and after they left i went to check it out. I pulled out the paper and found a jumping spider protecting her eggs. I took her and her eggs, but the eggs doesn't look pretty good :( . I hope at least one egg will hatch. Right now she is in a small container and I just fed her a fly.

Do you guys know what species this is?

I don't know if you can see it, but the white webbing near her is the terrible looking egg sac. She still continues to protect it.

What size is it ? If it is larger than 1/2" then it COULD be Phiddipus sp., though it doesn't lookk hairy enough to me. I'm no expert anyway !

I can't identify this spider but wanted to say let her keep the egg sack.I have had blck widow spider eggs that have been damaged while I was trying to catch the female spider and they sometimes repair the eggs and I still get slings out of them. Not as many sometimes but other times it doesn't seem that it affected the amount at all
