I mated My ghosts Weds afternoon. that morning the female laid an ooth (infertile as she was unbreed as of yet)

from EXPERIENCE should this be an issue?

it seems it should not be so I am less interested in conjecture or opinions and more interested in someones input from experience that it will or will not be properly fertilized.

Dennis: I know from the dialog I have had with some other members and in my own findings that one cannot depend on the ferility of the first ooth, even if it comes after the first mating. If there are nymphs in the first ooth, sometimes there are only a few of them and sometimes these are the ones that seem to be weak and fading. I hope this helps, even though I have no scientific reason for what I state.

Good luck with those Ghosties!

Rich

I would add that I would not subject the mantis to that as she has had a day full already, she wont lay for anther 10 days or more so give her time to recoupe. Plus she is extremely hungry and if you do mate them, he will be beheaded.

I'm sure it happens in the wild. I would wait a day at least.
