do chinese mantids live longer when captive bred?I heard it in a book at the library.

Not so much captive bred but being indoors they tend to live longer. Which means you can catch one outside and keep it indoors and it should live longer then the others outside. Reason being is that the ones outdoors will be killed by the cold.

Different speices have different needs when it comes to heat and humidity. But reason captive chinese live longer is due to them being indoors and not freezing to death in the winter.
