Just went mantis hunting in my yard and so far I found five Carolina nymphs maybe L2 or L3 (3 females + 2 males), plus a Carolina molt. I got pics of three of the nymphs and the molt. With the amount of nymphs running around where I found them, there must have been a two or three ooth blowout, since they spread out after they hatch, but there were still a lot. Sorry the pics aren't that great since they were so small (Precarious, where's your macro camera when I need it??? :tt2: ).

Female #1

Female #2

Male #2

Molt

You just gotta find out where they like to hide. I found every single one of these in some lily bushes, including the molt. Sorry about your sunburn. My entire face got sunburnt this weekend. My nose skin was peeling off on Monday afternoon.

would you believe I scanned each tree, bush, blade of grass I saw...even some crumpled leaves looked like ghosts to me...and they're not local  but that must have been the dehydration

Update: Last night around eight I found male #2 right where I left him, and he was molting to about L3. This morning I found him on the avocado plant near his skin. I also found another male L2 this morning.
