First time i've seen my chaeta molt, and it's been stuck in the same position for about 45 minutes.... when should i start worrying? its legs are still stuck in and the arms are about halfway out. body is completely out. i'll post pics asap.

My female mismolted the other day. I tried to save her but it was to late ..I was gutted!

Give it a little more time. From what I see in the picture it does seem like it is stuck. Can you post more pictures?

Unfortunately it will be a hard recovery for this young chaeta

If he remains stuck and you wish to save him you must use some tweezers to remove the rest of his molt. He is not going to be a happy camper.

I usually leave a tiny cut of a wet sponge that i clean regularly inside a soda botle cap at the bottom of their deli early on. Its also a good idea to include more birch and spread it out so there are other options to perch and molt from i always discourage nets and mesh with chaeta

Wish you the best in a speedy recovery!

Unfortunately, I was forced to put him down. I was able to pull him from the molt but he was crumpled up and his arms didn't work, his whole body was bent from the position he was in.
