Hello Everyone. I have been MIA with a cold from heck and then Thanksgiving, not that anyone noticed that I haven't been around. This place is a snooze! Is everyone busy with the Holiday madness? Anyway, one of my Chinese ooths hatched and it's an excuse to post. I'm making it into a homeschool math project. A study in data and statistics. I had to count the little guys (279) and then count the dead at four day intervals. 122 died in the first four days, 33 in the second four days. Should make and interesting bell. So that leaves me with only a bazillion hatchlings. I know how badly you people will be wanting to get your hands on this rare and exotic species so reserve your nymphs now.

Lol, I already have some "rare and exotic" nymphs of my own. Congratulations on the hatching thoughl. Your little project sounds kinda interstesting, are cannabalisms included in your count of the dead? Counting that many mantids that frequently would get tiring.... I've noticed that posts have seemed to slow lately too, I've posted quite a few things recently and it takes a lot longer for them to fade away from being the most recent posts in any particular category than normal.

This is a middle school project! We won't be controlling for many factors, cannabalism being one! Just constant supply of ff, temp. and mistiing. These guys think of too many ways to die! Can't keep up with that at this level. :)

Welcome back! I am also "in the state of recovery" from the long Thanks Giving holiday
Hi Yen! These hierodulas you supplied me have grown like crazy! They're huge, but gentle. Meanwhile, I have flower mantids that are months old and sitting around having a fruit fly now and then. ZZZZZZZZZ. Do you have any advice about my Unicorns? They won't mate and one female has already produced and ooth. She runs away or makes a threat display, sometimes she even chases the male! They are in an open enclosure for days then I isolate them for awhile, to assure they eat and get a break. What do you think?
