These are very easy to keep. They can be kept at room temp or a bit above, mist them once a day or depending on your humidity, a few times a week. For ventilation, just make sure that no mold grows on the ootheca. You need to improve the ventilation (or cut down on the misting) if the droplets from the water do not dissipate within a couple of hours.
Here is a pic of where I'm keeping my ooths. Would this work?
The ooths are located at the top of the enclosure...
Here are two of the smaller ooths...
Could the ooths have dried out during the shipping? They were in a box for 7 days. Would they still be okay?
How big are the nymphs when it hatches? By room temperature, you mean by room temp in the US or Malaysia? The room temp here in Malaysia is very inconsistent. Most of the time its around 29-31 in my house. Sometimes it becomes 32 or 33 on really hot days. This is all estimation. The temp outside on hot days can become 36 or 37.
For some reason one of the ooths attracted ants. Why did this happen? Has the eggs turned bad? There were many ants in the cage so I took the ooth out and I sunned the cage. Is the ooth still okay even though it has been attacked by ants?
