I was browsing Google images looking for some pictures of Chinese mantises next to a ruler to get an idea of the size of the mantis and I came across this Flickr photostream of a photographer who takes some really great shots of insect wildlife, particularly praying mantises. Browsing through I came across this video of her chinese mantis munching away on a cicada. I know the poor thing is suffering and god I feel bad, but just take a look at the video and tell me you don't find it a little humorous.

Sometimes it takes em a minute to get the wings under control. Great meal if they can hold onto it.

Love the title! "Is It Windy in Here?" I fed a cicada to one of my Chinese one time, and they do love it.

I feed cicadas to all the female chinese mantids that I keep. Its a long slow death for the cicada but its a great meal for the mantis. I guess thats the circle of life for ya.
