...I wouldn't be suprised...they'll at first sink their chompers into the wood, realize its not eatable, then "groom" more of the skewer for honey and probably happen upon a fly...Cute! Does she actually work her way around the skewer to eat the flies?

I know honey at natural concentration is too sugary for microbial growth, but I wonder if it cold pose an infection issue later on if humidity or moisture levels get too high? Actually, honey is an antibacterial substance. At about 80% water concentration, it is fine. More than that and it begins to ferment. (The honeybees seal it when it is thick enough, so, as long as your bottled honey is sealed right and you don't mix water in, it can keep for a very long time.)That's pretty neat! I love it!
