Many thanks Serle, I'm glad to be back.

Real life gets in the way occasionally but I always find my way back. When I am not around I still am involved in insects and related, and will be the rest of my life. I rescued a arachnid (a small wolf spider) that somehow was in my hospital room on my 3rd day I was there.

I manged to capture it in my empty water cup after much effort, then unhooked the machines and I wheeled out my IV stand to one of those outside observatories/park things. By then the nurses were having a fit and said I could not go out the door (threatening security and such), so my wife had to take the cup outside so the spider could escape.

From that point on everyone called me the spider or bug guy, even nurses/techs/doctors I hadn't seen before so I guess word got around. Everyone I told the story to thinks I'm full of it, but my wife was involved and my father heard the commotion so I at least have witnesses.

I however hope to remain here as long as the forum exists, even if I disappear for a bit again.

@CosbyArt You are a hero among spiders !  Was also in the hospital for a month; but never spotted an invertebrate .  I can sympathize with your valiant attempts to get said wolfie out of such an unhealthy environment as a hospital !  :clap:

Well thanks lol.

First I saw one too in a hospital even after countless numerous trips to hospitals for friends/family. As the maintenance/cleaning guy was in my room cleaning a few hours before, I assume the wolfie hitched a ride on his trash cart he had in the hallway. Your right he would have starved in that sterile environment, the staff loved smearing chemicals on everything.

Thanks, I do what I can but I'm still a noob myself. I hope if nothing else my posts pass along information for others to try things themselves and read links for more details. Nothing better than learning from hands-on experience when possible, and getting pointed in the right direction (myself included).
