so after deciding just to separate everyone individually into smaller enclosures and waiting a few days, i decided to go ahead and give it another shot. i fed the female two very fat crickets, which she devoured in an instant. (this one is a very aggressive eater.) and the male a smaller cricket, which he ate very slowly

100E27771.JPG After a couple of "i think i can, i think i cans" from the male,

100E27621.JPG A couple of "hey you mister, get away from me!" from the female

100E27801.JPG ...And several opportunities not taken...

100E27811.JPG i decided she was full enough to stay inside the large enclosure without worry of her chasing him down to munch.

at 4am i went to check and this...

100E27891.JPG F*ing SUCCESS!!!

now i just have to hope that he has enough room to get away from her or that they stay connected until i get home so i can supervise.

Who is that in the background of the first pic? It looks hungry for a creo snack...
that is Vitioso(Vicious in italian) my Stagmomantis limbata, and she was very interested in what was going on. she had just finished a silk moth so i dont know if she was hungry or just curious. my Tenedora was also very interested but she, you could tell had the taste for blood in her eyes

Awesome pictures. Great narrative.
thank you good sir! :)

my BF also just informed me that they are finished and she didnt eat him. so i guess he will have a go again with another female in a few days... good for him. i guess he got tired of me calling him gay to his face. my little *** monkey stepped his game up!!! :punk:

Congrats on the success :) Breeding can be incredibly stressful and annoying up until that point where it works. then you're the happiest you've been for a while. I hope everything turns out well for them and that she gives you some good ooths.

indeed! it was so frustrating for me to see him just sit there and watch her eat her food. especially when you can tell he is thinkin about it but then doesn nothing....

Congrats. My creo male got eaten yesterday. :( I only looked away for less than 5 minutes. He was making multiple attempts too. Poor little guy.
