So my only male has finally become an adult, but his final molt was flawed. His wings are all mangled and going every which way. He's been an adult for about a week now so I figured, what the heck, let's see what happens if I try to mate him. I put the female on a log and feed her a cricket, then I put the male behind her. He doesn't do anything so I nudge him. He'll finally approach and try to fly onto the female's back, but because of his messed up wings, he can't. This wild flapping freaks out the female and she bolts. I try this with another female, same thing, the blur of wings sends them running.
