Hey everyone,

I was wondering how many species of Creobroter are currently in culture in the world not just the US.

I know that at some point there were at least 4: apicalis, gemmatus, nebulosus, and pictipennis. I was wondering if they are all still in culture and if there are anymore species that I missed.

If you have any info on this or if you currently have a Creobroter species please feel free to share.

I am just trying to get an idea of what is currently in culture.

Thanks!

These are the Creobroter species I know are in culture.

Creobroter gemmatus

Creobroter pictipennis

Creobroter apicilis

Creobroter nebulosus

Creobroter urbanus

Creoborter meleagris

Creobroter elongata

Sounds good to me lol.

I am working on putting a list together of species that I think are currently in culture somewhere right now.

I'll try to post it when I am finished with it.

there are a couple breeders working to build up solid breeding stock before offering them for sale/trade...sooner or later they will be overrun with something and may post an add.

pictipennis, gemmatus, elongata, apicilis, and I am pretty sure urbanus are all in culture here in USA...maybe all of them

All but Creobroter elongata certainly are. I do not know about Creobroter elongata.

Yen thinks elongatus is a subspecies of gemmatus

I wanna see vitripennis in culture lol
Oh, really! I cannot find any subspecies in the species Creobroter gemmatus listed.Maybe Creobroter elongatus is wrong and is supposed to be Creobroter elongata. Creobroter elongata is not listed on Wikipedia and it is not listed on Tree Of Life.

Creobroter elongata is listed in the GBIF Check List Bank and the Mantodea Species File. But Creobroter elongatus is not listed in either one. I think probably Creobroter elongata is right and Creobroter elongatus wrong and it just got mixed up and are for the same mantis.
