I just put two in there and I am now wondering if that's a bad call.

I have seen them chew into sponges before.

Better put some food and water in there just in case.

Anyone?

ya, food will help, but you should take them out. They are always a few nibbles away from freedom and a breached net cage ;)

I have used those Live Monarch net cages for years and never had a cricket even attempt to chew on it.
