well, i notice noone is answering my questions so i suppose i should add a bit more info...

i am pondering about buying one of these fine creatures from someone in Chicago who goes by "Steve Ferguson". He says that he is cleaning out his collection if i remember correctly because he is moving, or something. Any feedback on him or info on the life span of the animal would be nice.

i am also thinking of buying a Damon diadema from

www.botarby8s.com

if i am not to buy from Steve.

anyone in favor of either?

I'm not sure of their life span but I've seen adults older than 3 years, we have some right now that are still only about an inch, along with other various sizes, so you should get a long life out of them if kept right. The first one we got was about 10 months ago. I think they are one of my favorites cause they are so creepy looking and so harmless. And honestly they are cooler if you have more than one. We have 6 small cages and a 50 gallon tank full of them and the tank is fun to watch. Take a look @ www.kenthebugguy.com the pic on the top is our pet! I know it only says we have 4 but we really have 60, So if you want a specific size email ken and tell him what size and Thebugwife sent you from Mantid Forum and I'll pick you out a great one! (I like my Mantid fanatics better than my tarantula fanatics!)

variegatus are deffinatly better, i think they live for 7 years +
