Dead Majuscula

I woke up today to find my female H. Majascula dead on the bottom of her enclosure. I just mated her. What gives? She seemed fine last night when I put her in there. My male is doing ok. I hope its not that black spot on his abdomen. Either way I will not be mating him with my other female. Why did this happen?

it happens as I had that happen as well the female would die after mating or in some cases would die after laying only 1 ooth and nothing after that so maybe a number of things as no one can predict what causes deaths in mantids out of the blue

I did not foresee this happening. Today is a sad day in my house. R.I.P Kickstand.
