They appear to be 2 different species, theyve been alive for over a week, I hope they shed and correct the problems so I can release them! DSC04704.JPGDSC04711.JPG

The 1st one should pull through easy. As for 2nd one, I'm afraid there's no way he'll survive a molt

oh man, that second one looks pretty brutal. Did you find these guys in the wild like this? I wonder what happened to poor bendy thorax during its last molt. I agree with Domanating, I have no idea how it'd be able to get out of its shed. But crazier things have happened, so you never know. I wouldn't get my hopes up for that one, though.
Fingers crossed either way!

Purchased egg cases and these were ones that hatched out with issues.

The first did so well I released it saw it going after bugs in my shrubs. The second eats so much but still hasn't shed yet, I'm keeping humidity slightly high with lots of branches so fingers crossed it can molt normally.

You were right, the twisted one didnt make it, could get out of his old skin the neck kink made it get stuck and he died, I tried he had better life than dying outside hours after birth from starvation or being eaten.

the first one is hardly deformed he will definitely be fine!

I had a mantid that ended up with a bent thorax like that one and it was corrected with the next molt no problem, im not sure how, but i found him the next morning after hed molted and he looked like hed never been bent!

first one was mantis religiosa. the second might have been chinese

I've had mantises with twisted legs that recovered fully with the next molt, as long as they were still able to grip upside down. However, bent thoraxes are more of an issue. I had some "bent" nymphs that were able to eat while being hand-fed, but despite my efforts, they still weakened over time and never made it to the next molt. It was really saddening :(
