My orchid is showing most of the signs of molting to adult. She hasn't eaten in a few days, she has somewhat swollen wing buds, and she is slower than usual. But she isn't turning pink like she is supposed to do. Does this always happen? How many days before the molt do they get significantly pink?

Update, she's just grabbed a fly after I hit the post button. That showed me. Still, have any of your orchids not gotten pinker before a molt?

I don't keep Orchids. Would REALLY, REALLY like to, but I haven't acquired them yet. :)

They turn pink? How pink? That is very interesting. If you're into photography (like many of us mantidforum members are) then that sounds like a great time for a photo shoot!

I took photos of her before her subadukt molt. She was almost red. Wasn't a high quality photo though.

My orchid was pure white in her sub molt but she turned pink at her presub one. I guess they turn pink randomly.
