OKay the empusa`s of pioden arrived just now and they are nearly dead!!!!!!!

ONes not moving at all the others very lethargic, ive already put them next to the readiator, will they recover?!

Im not sure if they are dead and twitching or just slowly dying, any advicve?

Yes: don't ship stuff in winter!

But try to warm them up a bit, they get lethargic when it's cold. They should recover if they didn't receive frost. Mines are in the diapause at moment and they don't move at all.

Careful with the heatpacks though. If you have good ones it's okay, but I read alot of those heatpacks use oxygen to get warm.. which means Mantids will have zero oxygen after a while!

It's a difference if you ship inside a country or bewteen countries. I also get one-day delivery in Germany, even without heat pack the mantids don't die. But after 5 days on the road from here to some other European country there is a considerable risk. No heatpack lasts as long. I don't mess up with winter shipping anymore, so I just ceased to do it. Less headache guaranteed!

We are on the same wavelength :) Had a fair few problems shipping in winter last year, so I'm waiting 'til the spring to start things back up again.

shipping out of uk in winter would be silly..u would be wasting your money and i would never do it.. only send in winter if its guaranteed next day.i got ooth sent to me from usa..it was in the cold for 1 week..it hasnt hatched now..i wont be doing that again.hes offered me a refund so its ok.but like he said hes not going to ship out of country now until It warms up.i dont blame him
