Double Hand Transplant

This video is a little graphic, so if you're squeamish I wouldn't watch it. This is a friend of mine's dad who had a double hand transplant this past weekend and they tweeted through the entire surgery and have now posted videos of the first time he saw his new hands. I find it FASCINATING that they managed to do this, and hopefully it will improve his quality of life and the quality of others' lives who are behind him on that path.

It is amazing how advanced medicine has become. Just imagine what we can do in another 50 years.

He was burned really badly in a fire a few years back. You can see some of the scaring on his face in the video. He's really lucky to be alive. When he says he's a blessed man, he's not kidding! Hopefully he'll be home in around 4 weeks.
