dying after depositing ootheca

My red armed mantis deposited an ootheca on the screen of her enclosure a couple nights ago. SInce then, the last (bottom) segment of her abdomen has atrophied, looks gray and shrivelled, it looked like there was something obstructing the anus and she won't eat. She also looked like she had a little bit of black stuff coming out of her mouth. I fear that something happened when she laid the egg case and now she is obstructed. She is clearly dying. I'm so upset and would appreciate any insights into what you all think may have happened and if there is anything at all I can do.

Did one or both of her eyes go black ? I have seen this in Tenoderas............. S
