Eggs on outside of ooth?

The darker ooth is an old lineola ooth the lighter ooths are fresh carolina ooths. I just noticed these egg like things on the outside of the ooths. Anyone know if these are eggs from my mantis? Or if they are from some other insect I am unaware of?

I don't see how those could possibly be mantis ooths. Must be some sort of parasite.

Not mantis. I'd remove those eggs and keep those oothecae away from any others just to be on the safe side.

Thats happened to me before they are mantis eggs but without the foam. You should take care of t hem and see what happens I forgot i had them so they never hatched

I've been meaning to post a similar photo but different species. The girl started to foam her oothecae but part way she would just switch to straight up eggs. It was interesting to get to see some of what goes on inside at least. I'm not sure what sort of survival chance there is for actual hatching. The eggs will probably dry out very easily. The placement also looks as if it is off since without the foam they don't stack them very nicely.

it is a mantis egg sack, she just had a bad ooth laying, the ones outside won't hatch, if any are inside they may.

Those are mantis eggs. That ooth above the eggs is clearly deformed. Either those eggs were deposited during the making of that deformed ooth or they came later and were deposited without any of the rest of the ooth. There is something wrong with the mantis that laid that ooth. It is best to remove ooths after they dry to prevent another ooth from being laid over them.
