Hey guys, I have a brief question on feeding Egyptian mantids. Is it possible to feed them rice weevils as a staple? Also, I know this is not concerning feeding but do you guys have any idea what the simplest adult setup for these species(A.K.A. miomantis paykullii)? If so, is it possible for pictures? Thanks in advance.

They can live their whole life within 32oz deli containers.

I have 4 in 32 oz deli cups . I probably wouldn't want to live in a cup...I like it in a bottle ; )

Oh! Also, what do you guys think of rice weevils? What about earwigs?
Really can't comment on Rice Weevils / Don't think I've ever actually seen a live one
But if they'll eat them I don't see a problem with it
As a staple diet??? IDK???
Personally I like to mix things up
So you might want to toss in a fly cricket moth butterfly etc. & so on every now & again

Earwigs have never tried feeding them to mantids
But do feed them to my pedes & scorps
If you do so I'd recommend clipping their pincers so you don't risk the chance of one of them puncturing one of your mantids
Cause some of them have big ones & if you've ever been nailed by a big one you know you felt it

Set up usual basic mantid set up
A little moss soil paper towel or what ever for substrate on bottom
A live or fake plant and or some twigs or what not for them to cling to

Attached a pic of one of my nymph set ups
M. Caffra not Paykullii but same basic care
Mist every two or three days or so & you should be fine
