My Tropidomantis is refusing food for no reason. She just molted 4 days ago so she cant be getting ready to molt right? She catches her prey and eats thier head so that they stop moving but then spits it out. Is this normal? Is she going to lay an ooth or something? She hasnt met a male Tropidomantis yet. Should I be worrying? Help please?

Yes, try a different food. She will lay ooths whether she has mated or not. I doubt she is going to lay an ooth if she just molted a few days ago.

Is it catching the prey itself or are you force feeding it ?

They like to eat flies from the little experience I have had with them.

Thanks for all the replies! I tried feeding her crickets and she started eating again. Thanks! :D BTW I saw a pic of an adult Tropidomantis Tenera. My mantid looks like that so I think I may have a Tropidomantis Tenera. She's 2cm long after molting. She has molted 3 times since I found her in my garden. Any idea what instar my mantid is? As I told you she's 2 cm long. I hope that helps identify what instar it is.
