I know of a few ooths in my yard. However, I must have had no idea about this one. I started finding little nymphs at one corner of the house yesterday. I was incubating a european mantis ooth over there this past winter and it suddenly went missing after a storm. I wonder if that is where they are coming from. They could also be chinese or carolina. I lean towards chinese since I found an adult female in a bush there last year.

I think there Chineese also, because I found and Chin ooth about a month ago and it just hatched, and they look just like that. Well imo, anyway. Do we have picks of Euro ooths somewhere? I'd like to find one of those.

Yeah they do look like chinese. I keep finding them all over my deck too. I saw another ooth hatch in a different place in the yard a few days ago. I also have a few carolina ooths in the yard but none of them have hatched yet. I may have apic of a european ooth.

Ditto number 3 on the Chinese, my many Chinese babies look just like that.

One way to tell is that Chinese mantises don't curl their butts. They keep them straight.
