Brunneria

Today, I went out in a field to search for Brunneria borealis. Was hoping to find at least 3 in this area, but I could only find two specimens today.
Thank you It is certainly exciting to find them in their natural habitat. Even the common Stagmomantis carolina excites me when I see them in the open field!Congrats on the finds! It's always great to be able to find new pets in their natural habitat, one interesting aspect of the hobby to be sure.
If you want to trade or sell any of them send me a PM. It's the one species I've been trying to get myself for awhile but seems everyone is sold out when I try.
Same here I have a soft soft for Carolina's as my mantid was one. I got a small group of Carolina breeding females I caught, and had a larger one of Chinese too bit I sold them as I was running out of time and feeders to do it all.Thank you It is certainly exciting to find them in their natural habitat. I have 5 people waiting on the oothe so I'll add you to the waiting list
I usually only find carolina and occasionally chinese mantids (interestingly I don't see them as often as brunner's!). On one occasion, I found an ootheca of Oligonicella scudderi that was high up in a dead tree (found it under a bark of the top portion of the tree when I knocked it down to collect some Parcoblatta divisa), and I've seen one Thesprotia greminis at the place where my dad works.Same here I have a soft soft for Carolina's as my mantid was one. I figured, seems to be a popular species that is hard to find in the hobby often - but looks like your are having luck in the field so congrats. Talking about finding wild mantids, what species have you came across so far? For me it's been just Carolina and Chinese here in Indiana, and I did find a old Religious mantis ooth (but never a live one yet).
Looks like a nice mix of species. The cockroach one threw me off for a minute lol.I usually only find carolina and occasionally chinese mantids (interestingly I don't see them as often as brunner's!).
