good i know that mantids like to be in long grass, bushes, under lanterns etc.

but i want to know if there are any more "specific" places to find them

like: i friend of mine said you have to look on lavender.

are there any places/bushes/trees/habitats they use to live in?

when i,m back from hollyday i want to have at least 10 matid pictures..

ok i know you need lots of luck to tho..

For us here a great place is a weedy meadow with lots of feeder insects.

Where I live, butterfly bushes are great as they're always full of bees and butterflies. Lavendar makes sense, I've never found a mantid on my lavendar but it is a bee magnet as well. The problem I've had finding wild ones is a matter of visualizing - you're looking right at them and still don't see them. You have to be patient and really look.
