This is the first time I've attempted mantid breeding. I've been waiting 2 weeks since my S. limbata matured. Tonight was the night, I was going to hope for the best. Introduced the female to the male's cage. They just stood there for half an hour looking at each other. Finally the female slowly approaches the male. When she's about an inch away he flies on top of her. A couple minutes pass and they start to get busy, I'm so excited! They started at 7pm, 3.5 hours later, they are still connected. Mantids sure do take their precious time when mating.
