I am making more Fruit fly cultures tomorrow (Monday the 19th of June).
Hydei and D mel.
The D mel. I have seemed to have evolved and are VERY jumpy, however, they do not take flight.
The hydei are still speed walking cuties lol.
This upcoming Tuesday I will have fresh cultures, freshly prepared media/food with at least 50 flies in it.
Keep these between 77-80 degrees for best results to speed production up and start getting those crowds of flies blooming!
Hydei take 14-18 days until you see maggots pupating and are a day away from hatching out into flies.
D Mel take 10-14 days until you see maggots pupating and are a day away from hatching out into flies.
I also have Blue bottle flies.
