I think the typical method is to compare the size of the pectines (those little feather or comb-like appendages under the scorpion). It helps to have one of each sex on hand when you do this. Males have larger pectines/more teeth. Place it in a clear deli cup or Tupperware container and look from beneath. These are venomous, so be careful.
