Meek's hind right foot is not gripping on anything, it is hovering above the sock, pantyhose, paper towel - and I tried all three. It has no cling. I cannot see anything wrong with it, but when he goes to molt he will only have three feet on the surface. I know mantises sometimes raise their feet when about to clean it, but he has had his foot off the surface for a while now.

Is there *anything* I can do about it? I have a roll of scotch tape and scissors nearby, if I need, I'll gently tape a very tiny strip of tape onto his foot if he starts molting and that leg doesn't molt out.

He can molt w/ three legs clung onto something and still get the fourth out perfectly. Don't worry man, everything will be okay.

I've had gongylus who shake crazy when they molt come out alive with only two legs hanging.

Everything will be okay, just make sure Meek has adequate room for molting.

Just nervous since I lost Fortune to a mismolt last night (although he passed today, the third)

Meek followed Fortune in molting shortly after, within 12 or 24 hours, so he is due. It's past 24 hours since Fortune molted. I don't want to lose another.

He is doing a weird behavior I have never seen before. He seems to be breathing heavily, and he is moving that problem leg up and down slowly. Any idea what this could be? Perhaps he is pulsing his body to start the flow of that hormone that induces apolysis, which precedes the ecdysis?

He has been grooming that foot for a few minutes now, just noticed it. I love my mantises, maybe I don't trust them enough. They know how to molt, dude!

I just hope he doesn't mismolt. I hope he doesn't lose a leg or anything. I hope he can SPREAD HIS WINGS !!!!

I've seen this many times. Nothing you can do. A molt should fix the issue.

I think I posted in this in my update thread, but Meek molted this morning to adult! Perfect molt. His foot that I was worried about is okay. His wings are so pretty too!
