for those who play acoustic guitar

what should i get, a taylor or martin? im planning on spending about £1000.

I play both acoustic and electric, and I own a Taylor. I prefer their sound to Martins, but of course that is just personal preference. I suggest trying them out and seeing (rather hearing) for yourself

I've toyed with a lot of guitars I prefer Taylor because of the feel and sound but it's all personal preference.

I'm a Martin fan, however, check out Montez (I'm not sure if they're still around).

I love my Montez, it's from the 50s and has a sound like you would never believe. It's a typical Spanish classic guitar that sounds like an angel. If you can find one, try it out and pick it up. I can guarantee you will be in love.

Don't get me wrong - Taylor makes real great guitars. But I've always been a Martin guy.

I would say go with the Martin.
