I really love the color too!Whatever it is, its beautiful. So yellow...Looks like a parymenopus hooked up with a stagmo.
It did just lay eggs. I'm trying to get him to bring them to me, but he's there for conservation biology research so is naturally opposed to such things. He has watched it lay two Ooths so far.Guyana mantis = <3 ...or even a Hierodula x Parymenopus ...I would love to see the nynphs, ooth, and threat pose!
Edit: And I just noticed, there seems to be some ooth residue on the tip of her abdomen...where is the ooth?!

Worse? or better?I'm unsurprised. you might be worse than me.
But there's about a 5% chance or less of that happening.

He's there to observe guppies and what makes certain colors more prominent in certain areas. IDK if he has to kill them. We're not that close. He just knows from my Facebook that I like mantids. Is that the kinda conservational work where they have to kill what they find to catalouge it?
