This morning one of my budwings finally molted and it looked very stuck in the molt-both back legs. I see this frequently wiht the chinese mantids. I left it alone and it was painfully dragging the molt around, getting it stuck on the stuff in the enclosure. I left it alone and now, an hour later it appears completely free. I've seen chinese mantids drag molts around for more than a day--even watching them "clean" the leg--which I had been hoping would allow them to chew or clean off the molt, but I haven't observed that.
So...have you observed different species having more success with getting legs free when they have this type of 'mis-molt' (hestitate to call it that as the budwing obviously fixed the problem).
glad I didn't try to "help"!
