Ghost mantis molting

Okay so I was just watching one of my mantids molting and at the end I noticed it came out with only 3 leggs So my quiestion is. Is it common for a mantis to pull a legg and it come off in molting? I keep them Hydrated with a misting every day so idk what could have happen with this guy.

I had the same thing happen with a Chinese mantis nymph. I would assume it is fairly common, but I'm not sure. I hope some people with more experience can help you

One of my D lobatas did that also. The next time she molted she was back to 4 legs.

Srr about your ghost, but at least yours still have 3 legs. My wide armed nymph couldn't get out of her skin properly when she molted . I keep her hydrated and raise up humidity as well. I think that's natural selection
