I got up this morning to find ghost #7 adult female had mismolted and was laying on the substrate on bottom of enclosure. She has lost the last segment of a back leg and her antenee are all messed up. It loooks like there is still skin on her face, I think the antenee are in the skin also looks like her mouth may be in the skin still. I tried to remove the skin with twizzers but it has hardened already. I got her to hang in the enclosure with the others, question is should I remove her and do a quick freeze or do I leave her in there and see what happens and kinda let nature take its course.

Spray her to try and soften the exoskeleton, and try to remove the exoskeleton...then see what parts of her are functional...if she can feed well and stand properly (so she can eventually lay an ooth) then she is worth keeeping.....don't jump the gun and freeze her, see what you are given...

All the best,

Andrew

I put her in a container by herself with some food to see if she can eat, also sprayed her down well

so will see

Like Andrew said...

also after spraying her exoskeleton you can use a small paintbrush and warm water to gently brush off the stuck on skin.

She won't eat right away, so take the food out and offer it to her in a day or two, and she will probably need some help getting that exoskeleton off of her..
