ive had my ghost mantid for a month or longer and 2 of the 4 dont want to eat the crickets that i put in front of them. one of them just molted so i understand why hes not eating but the other one is fine. anyone know why the one isnt eating?

oh its almost been a whole day since he molted. and i have fed them crickets since they were L3 they are now L5

Collin,

Just wait (be patient) another day or two. As you know, your new;y-molted ghost will need and want water above anything else. Then, if no dice, as Alex suggested, try another food. When I have this happen, I can almost always get them interested in Yummy Goo. That is: get some darkling beetle grubs (mealworms) and cut the head off. Put the oozing end gently up to the mantis's mouth.

i put a cricket back in the cage and she snatched him up then dropped the cricket after a second. her abdomen is flat as can be. im going to get some small meal worms later when i get fruit flies for my freshly hatched Creobroter pictipennis!

Cut the mealworm in half an offer her the goey part to see if she will take it. Offer honey....put it right up to her mandibles. Smush a cricket< YUK, and offer the goey part to her with tongs right up to her mouthparts. Hold it there if she starts eating, then maybe she will take it from you, Good luck!
