So my first ootheca began hatching today. There were 4 ghosts , two active and two just hanging from the ooth. They were this way when I woke up this morning. Now, 8 hours later, there are still no more nymphs and one of the hanging ones is dead. The other is on the bottom of the container moving, but it looks like its legs are stuck together or something and it cannot get up.

Is this all that is going to hatch from this ooth? 8 hours seems long, but I've never hatched an ooth before. I made sure to keep the temperatures warm but not hot and I made sure to mist...is it normal to only get 2 healthy nymphs from an ooth?

Thanks a bunch!

Yeah if they were stuck hanging it sounds like it wasnt humid enough

For your next one, maybe try putting a foam insert in the bottom of where ever you have the ooth at and spray that...it will hold humidity without over spraying the ooth.

That seems right to me too, there should of been more, but who knows, maybe the mother was old, or maybe she wasnt fed right, I am sure a lot of things could cause this, but moisture seems the reason here.

ahh I misted daily! I was worried I misted too often because I read every three days, but yes maybe trying to keep it warm dried my misting out too quickly and did not allow for humidity. I will wait and hope for more with fingers crossed. Thanks for all of the help everyone
