Cheers guys!!! My female Giant Asian is about ready to begin her molt to L6, I believe her last molt and any time now. Her skin is very saggy and she began squirming and expanding and contracting her abdomen all last night into this morning. She is also currently, since last night in the molting posture. Earlier this month wrote in about my7 male which began the same way only he remained in the molting posture for a week. When he finally did begin to molt he was so weak he fell from the branch he clung to and was unable to re-attach himself even to the lid of a 32 oz. cup. He went on to die as he was unable to get out of the skin himself. I am afraid she is heading the down the same path. My question is is there any reason a mantis might not be able to molt in time? Is it something I'm Not doing? They have molted perfectly until now at adulthood. What m I doing wrong???? Room temp is almost always 76-78 degrees the air in my apt is normal not really dry as the desert but for mantids which needed humidity higher I bought a barometer and a little stick on thermometer which both fit right inside tanks and 32 oz. cups, sooooo.... what?

What do I do she is all saggy and I can literally see the moisture collecting under her skin!!! Help!!!

normally is because the medium and humidity is way to dry..have u got wet medium on the floor of the deli cup?

Thanks Macro!! I took the humidity up a bit an put the barometer in the tank with her instead of the others for now. I'm going to take the humididty up to around 70% or so. Should that be sufficient or should I go higher??? Temp is now 76 degrees.

60% should be enough...if its higher than that make sure u have lots of ventilation.
