If anyone can help out a newbie, it'll be MUCH appreciated. I'm looking for a male Florida bark mantis, preferably a young adult, but a sub-adult will work. And due to my VERY, very, very low budget and intolerant parents, it must be nice and cheap. My female is getting fat with eggs, but I'm doubtful to whether she was mated when I found her. It would be nice to mate her just to be sure, though. Thanks. :)

You worry too much. If you caught her wild, she is already mated (unless you think you caught her fresh out of her final molt!) ;) I have a few males, but I honestly don't know how far they are from adult. I haven't noticed any wing buds, and the largest guy is not even 3/4" yet! I will let you know if they shed to subadult anytime soon, though!
