I joined this forum about a year ago after catching a gravid female European mantid. I got bit by the mantid bug and ended up keeping several different species and breeding a few. It was a fascinating experience and I want to thank all of the kind and generous people on the forum that helped me learn the ropes.
Today my last mantid died, a female ghost, and it am leaving the mantid hobby for now. A funny thing happened. Last November I went to a reptile expo looking for mantids and I bought a tarantula. I kept tarantulas about 15 years ago and found myself getting back into them. I know own 9 tarantulas and I am focusing my attention on them.
I've always been into creepy crawlies, and I wouldn't be surprised if mantids are in my life again someday.
