Is anyone breeding grasshopper as feeder for mantis? I would love to start a colony myself and I was wondering what kind of grasshopper would be suitable? If possible, please post some picture as well. Thanks !

I heard raising grasshoppers is just as hard as raising crickets but never tried anything other then raising fruit flies!

Raising cricket is not that hard. All you need is a substrate/soil for the to lay eggs. Keep the substrate moist but not damp. Keep it about 85'F and it will hatch in around 1 week +. I used to breed pinhead myself to feel my baby chameleons.
