Does anyone in the states know where you can order grasshoppers or locust?

I thought I read that we can't get them here.  Is that a thing?

I know many people would say go outside and catch them, but I don't have them near me, but they are a good source of food.

Any help would be great, thanks!

I’m not sure if it’s legal to buy them/ship them across state lines in the US. Don’t quote me in it, but I did a quick google search, and there were a few discussions about it. Here’s some links:

From what I can tell from the discussions, it has to do with the fact that they are an agricultural pest, and if they are let loose, they can take over (the world, basically). Or at least a good deal of a farmer’s crops

I can just buy my grasshoppers/ locusts at my pet store. But that is in the netherlands. I dont think the grasshoppers I have will survive in NL outside. Think it is too cold for them. (not this summer)
