Greetings from a new nymph owner!

Hi everyone,

I just caught a brown nymph on my way back from class. I'm located in Davis, CA. I'm a little curious as to what kind of mantis it is but haven't gotten the chance to take pictures yet. I'm still trying to get as much info as I can about taking care of it. So far I bought a mesh screen to put on top of the jar I'm keeping it in, a mist spraying bottle and a butterfly net for catching leaf-hoppers that are always in the grass. I hope to learn more about mantises from everyone here because they are so interesting to watch!

Welcome to my fellow CA resident and hopefully a mantid enthusiast. Be care of glass and plastic containers if placed in the sun or under a lamb. It can get a mantis cooked quickly. Mesh is better, and more ventilation is better.
