Hello everyone! I am getting tenodera sinensis ootheca this spring and in the meantime have been researching up a storm on how to best keep mantids. This is really exciting as I haven't kept insects since I was kid due to being bullied out of them. My parents brought home an ooth as a present in the past, however the nymphs died before i2 probably due to summer heat or not having anywhere to molt. As an adult with adult money and freedom, I am arming myself to the nines with all the necessary equipment and knowledge I can! Feel free to leave any tips and tricks as they are always welcome.

Side project: I am currently attempting to culture a colony of silverfish from the infestation in my house as a potential intermediate feeder between fruit flies and discoid roaches for my nymphs. I have determined it to be the Grey Silverfish, Ctenolepisma longicaudatum, which sexually matures at 4-6 months of age. My hope is to manage to breed offspring from the captured fish as there runs the risk of heavy metals in the adults. If you have any experience with silverfish, I would really appreciate any knowledge you have :)
