Hi everyone,

My name is James, I'm 20 and a mantis keeper/breeder/enthusiast from Australia.

I've got a nice little collection of natives and exotics at the moment but I'm always looking to expand!

Full list as follows:

Hierodula majuscula (Giant rainforest praying mantis) 2x female, 2x male 3rd instar

Tenodera australasiae (Purple Winged Mantis) 1x Adult Male

Idolomantis Diabolica (Giant Devil's Flower Mantis) 1x Female L6, 1x Male L5

Pnigomantis Medioconstricta (Indonesian Double Shield Mantis) 15 Freshly hatched 1st instars

Parasphendale affinis (Budwing Mantis) 2x Female, 2x Male 4th instar

The mantis pictured is the male idolomantis, Definately my favourite of the bunch.

Right now I am actively looking to expand my collection, ill be making a wanted post in the classifieds shortly but to give you an idea of what I'm looking for (I am looking for oothecas only since I will most likely be getting them imported, unless there are other mantid breeders in Aust who have exotic species):

Pretty much any mantid species that is not a stick, dead leaf or grass mantid species.

In particular I am looking for orchid mantis ooths, thistle mantis ooths, conehead/alien head mantis ooths, interested in all types of boxer/wide arm mantids, unicorn mantis ooths among others.

I don't have any ooths available for trade at the moment so they will be outright sales (Money is really no object for my more desired species as listed above), If you have other exotic ooths that I haven't listed, don't be afraid to send me a message or reply, I am open to many, many kinds of species :)

Welcome! Good luck getting someone to ship exotics to AU... It is highly illegal and could mean jail time.

Yep lol, might want to keep your activities quiet :p . I did read that you found out it is legal in NSW to import mantids, I would double check you are allowed to keep them though, I was under the impression along with many others that it is illegal. Let me know if you find out otherwise because there are a lot of exotics that I want :D

But welcome from Victoria mate.
