Hello everyone! Love what I have seen of the forum so far. My son has developed a love for our preying mantises in the backyard. They look like giant chinese, and there is one that hangs out by his wagon outside, he goes and checks on it and reports on it. We did some exploring on the web, and what an amazing insect! And they make good pets!!! Dylan, my son, is young, and I think these would be awesome and educational first pets in the house.
I have kept large constrictors, lizards and tarantulas in the past. I would like to do a communal ghost tank (maybe four or five), and a single dead leaf mantis in another tank, both with some cork bark, fake twigs and dead leaves, coco noir substrate, heat pad if necessary. I am assuming that I would keep all of these in 32oz cups until ready for the tanks. With a little experience I look forward to Orchid mantis, a devils flower mantis, what a wonderful hobby!!!
I loom forawrd to getting to know the Forum and all of you.
Thanks,
Freddy
