Hi everyone, before i became educated at all about mantids,I had found an ooth and read how to incubate it.Well they started hatching yesterday. So far i've put about 30 nymps in cups and found a friend who works in a pet shop that will help me get rid of them. The ones in the cups are actively feeding on fruitflies. My main concern is how often i should mist them.I misted each cup and substrate before putting them in.Any advice would be apprciated.I did this out of iggnorance and repeat i will never do it again as it doesn't seem fair to the nymphs.

chinese,i bought a culture of fruit flies, so i've been able to feed part of the ones i have in cups as i plan to keep them.

Thanks everyone,my biggest woorry right now is my fruit fly culture. It is a product from the fruit fly factory and has'nt really taken off yet though i had enough for today, see what happens

What kind of fruit flies? If melanogaster, they're easier to culture on your own. I haven't bought fruit flies since July, because I made my own cultures with melanogaster. Hydei, however, are kind of trickier to culture.

Drosophlia is thevkind of flies they are.The second cuture is producing well,so theyall got fed today.Store clerk said give the 1st culture the weekend and see how it does.
